Connecticut's Mashantucket Pequots, Donald Trump and other groups striving to obtain the licenses for slot-machine rooms in Philadelphia promised to reconstruct the industrial sections of the city and donate millions of dollars to charity.
There are five groups interested in the two licenses available to open slot-machine casinos in Philadelphia. They all appeared at a hearing before the state’s gambling regulators. Among other things, they pledged to build a boardwalk along the Delaware River.
There will be hearings for three days, during which the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board shall decide which of the interested parties is best suited for the licenses.
